Use of Cloud Sync by Team Members

Hello,

My team would like to make use of the Cloud Sync in Insomnia to collaborate on a project. One member has created an organization and has invited other team members to it. The project is of type Cloud Sync. He staged and committed all changes to the master branch. When other team members open the organization and project, they don’t see any collections/files.

How can another team member pull the changes so that they can also see the entire project?

Kind regards,

Rens

Hi @Rens ,

Thanks for reaching out.

To help resolve the issue, could you check and share the following -

  1. The OS (Windows or macOS) you’re using.
  2. Whether you’re on a corporate network/VPN
  3. Check whether the collections appear under the Unsynced or All Files view.
  4. If the collections are listed as unsynced, pull/sync them locally.
  5. Your insomnia version
  6. check Preferences → Proxy matches the corporate proxy.
  7. Go to your collection → click on the branch name at the bottom menu: Branch Name → History
If you see entries there, you might be able to restore from a previous commit using the Restore button next to a specific change.
  8. If possible, share the insomnia logs from help → show App data logs
  9. Any relevant messages from the console logs.
  10. The account E2EE vault is not established. If E2EE is org-enforced, you cannot pull/decrypt collections until it’s set up.
Preferences → Account/Security → set up / unlock the E2EE vault with the encryption passphrase.

Thank you.

Hi @Rens,

Could you try updating to the latest version of insomnia (13.0.1), and let us know if you still face any further issues.

Thank you.

Hi @Poojitha_Pyla ,

Thank you for reaching out.

  1. We’re using Windows.
  2. We’re on a corporate network at the office and VPN at home
  3. I don’t see an Unsynced or All Files view
  4. /
  5. 13.0.1
  6. The Proxy is set up and the requests reach the APIs as expected
  7. In the History section I see the commits I have pushed. I don’t see any colleague’s changes.
  8. I don’t see any relevant logs
  9. I don’t see any relevant logs
  10. E2EE has been established

Thank you.

Hi @Rens,

Could you test and let us know if you’re still facing the same issue after updating to version 13.0.1?

Thank you.

Hi @Poojitha_Pyla ,

After the new update it works.

Thank you!

Hi @Rens,

Thank you for providing the update.

Did you check what permission level they were granted in the organization? If they can see the org and project but nothing inside, it’s often a permissions thing.
