By looking at this the diagram on this page, it seems we can use KongIngress without an ingress resource by adding to a Service directly. However, it contradicts with what has been described in the KongIngress overview section.
Can someone confirm if we can use a standalone KongIngress without an Ingress resource?
From my understanding you can put a kongingress resource on a service object BUT this service will not be detected by KIC if you don’t have an ingress object pointing to it.

KongIngress is unfortunately poorly-named. It doesn’t do anything similar to a standard Ingress and only serves to store additional configuration–KongConfiguration would maybe be a better name, but we can’t easily change it at this point.
