Follow the other examples like Nginx, they support natively the canary deployment.
What is the position for KONG?
This could be a point that a lot of people could prefer Nginx or other solutions.

Canary deployment is an enterprise plugin right now.
We are going to Open source it and also tweak a few components in the core to support canary deployments, traffic mirroring and other traffic managements features supported out of the box.
