IP Restriction - restricting client's real IP

Hi. I’m new to KONG and its plugins. I’ve been trying to set up IP restriction plugin so that it allows only my machine’s IP. Kong is running on a remote server and I have to use tunnelling to access it. What I’ve noticed is, the whitelist works fine when I use remote server’s IP but not when I whitelist my machine’s IP. How to achieve this?
