# Configuring ACL with basic-auth is not validating in kong 2.0.4

Hi

I am new to kong. I have tried to use this ACL plugin on top of basic-auth i am not getting the end result.

Created a service  
Create a route  
Created the basic-auth plugin and ACL plugin to my service  
Created the basic-auth credentials  
Created a consumer  
associate the group to consumer

Only the basic auth credentials is validating not the ACL. (whitelist) Please help me out.
