# Choice of DB for Kong

It is my understanding that both free edition and enterprise edition of Kong work with Cassandra or Postgres only. Is there a way to use any other DB and to be specific, MongoDB?.

Only Cassandra and Postgres are supported at this time.

Potentially you could use other DBs, if they happen to implement same client interface as Postgres or Cassandra.
